Bernoulli Equation Pressure Calculator

Bernoulli Equation Pressure Calculator

Bernoulli's equation captures a simple trade-off along any streamline: where a fluid speeds up, pressure drops, and where it slows down, pressure recovers.

The Formula

P2 = P1 + 0.5 × ρ × (v1² - v2²)

Worked Example

Water at 200 kPa flowing at 2 m/s accelerates to 5 m/s: P2 = 200 + 0.5 × 1000 × (4-25)/1000 = 189.5 kPa - pressure drops as velocity increases.

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Enter upstream pressure, fluid density, and upstream velocity.
  2. Enter downstream velocity.

Assumption: this version assumes no elevation change and no friction losses between the two points - real systems need additional loss terms for a fully accurate result.
