Nail Trim Frequency Calculator

Nail Trim Frequency Calculator: Plan Your Trim Schedule

Nails grow at a fairly predictable average rate, which means you can estimate how often you'll need a trim to keep them at your preferred length. This calculator does that math directly.

The Formula

Days Between Trims = (Desired Trim Length / Growth Rate per Week) × 7

Worked Example

Nails growing at the average 0.7 mm per week, wanting to trim 2 mm off each time.

Days Between Trims = (2 / 0.7) × 7 = 20 days

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Optionally adjust your nail growth rate (0.7 mm/week is the average for fingernails).
  2. Enter how much length you typically trim off.
  3. Click Calculate to get your recommended trim frequency.
