Three common ways to express the same property

Density can be expressed in whichever units are most convenient for the context - g/cm3 for everyday materials (water is conveniently exactly 1 g/cm3), kg/m3 as the standard SI engineering unit, and lb/ft3 in US construction, materials science, and fluid engineering.

Worked example

For 1 g/cm3 (the density of water):

Result = 1000.0 kg/m3 = 1.0 g/cm3 = 62.428 lb/ft3

Water's density of exactly 1 g/cm3 (or 1000 kg/m3) is a useful mental anchor point - any material with density above 1 g/cm3 sinks in water, while anything below floats, making this conversion table a quick reference for material buoyancy as well.
