Example
100 households, $5 per invitation suite, $0.73 postage per invitation:
Printing = $500.00, Postage = $73.00 → $573.00 total
Why Household Count, Not Guest Count
Invitations are addressed and mailed per household, not per individual guest, which is why household count - not total guest count - drives this cost calculation; a household of four guests still only requires one invitation.
Watch Out for Extra Postage
Heavier, non-standard-shaped, or multi-piece invitation suites (common with elaborate wedding stationery) may incur additional postage above the standard first-class rate - confirming actual postage cost with a real invitation sample at the post office avoids returned mail from insufficient postage.
