Why delay effects sound rhythmic instead of muddy
Music producers deliberately set delay and echo effect times to exact musical note divisions rather than arbitrary millisecond values, so the delayed repeats land precisely in rhythm with the song's tempo.
Worked example
For a 120 BPM track, using an eighth note delay:
Quarter Note = 60000 / 120 = 500 ms
Eighth Note Delay = 500 x (4/8) = 250.0 ms
