PTO Accrual Rate Calculator

Why PTO builds up gradually, not all at once
Most employers accrue paid time off incrementally throughout the year rather than granting the full annual allotment on day one - this figure is typically what shows up on a pay stub each period.
Worked example
For 120 annual PTO hours accrued across 26 biweekly pay periods:
Accrual Rate = 120 / 26 = 4.615 hours per pay period
Multiplying this per-period rate by the number of pay periods worked so far in the year gives a quick way to check whether your accumulated PTO balance matches what it should be at any given point.
