Dry Flue Gas Calculator
Matching Analyzer Readings to a Real Gas Balance
Portable flue gas analyzers almost always report on a dry basis, since water vapor condenses unpredictably in sampling lines. This calculator converts an actual wet flue gas volume down to the dry basis those readings use.
The Formula
Dry Flue Gas Volume = Wet Flue Gas Volume × (1 − Water Vapor% / 100)
Worked Example
2,500 Nm3 of wet flue gas containing 12% water vapor by volume:
Dry Volume = 2,500 × (1 − 0.12) = 2,200 Nm3
How to Use This Calculator
- Enter the total Wet Flue Gas Volume.
- Enter the Water Vapor percentage by volume.
- Select Calculate to get dry flue gas volume.
