Wet Flue Gas Calculator

The Actual Volume Moving Through the Stack

While analyzers report dry-basis composition, the real gas physically flowing through a stack includes water vapor. Adding that vapor back to a dry gas measurement gives the true wet-basis volume that fans and stacks actually handle.

The Formula

Wet Flue Gas Volume = Dry Flue Gas Volume + Water Vapor Volume

Worked Example

2,200 Nm3 of dry flue gas with 300 Nm3 of water vapor:

Wet Volume = 2,200 + 300 = 2,500 Nm3 (12% water vapor)

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Enter the Dry Flue Gas Volume.
  2. Enter the Water Vapor Volume to add.
  3. Select Calculate to get total wet flue gas volume.
