Flue Gas Volume Calculator

Total Exhaust Volume From a Combustion Event

Every kilogram of fuel burned produces a predictable volume of flue gas, depending on fuel composition and excess air level. Multiplying that per-kg factor by total fuel burned gives the total flue gas volume produced.

The Formula

Total Flue Gas Volume = Fuel Mass × Flue Gas Volume per kg Fuel

Worked Example

Burning 200 kg of fuel that produces 12.5 Nm3 of flue gas per kg:

Volume = 200 × 12.5 = 2,500 Nm3

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Enter the total Fuel Mass burned.
  2. Enter the Flue Gas Volume produced per kg of fuel.
  3. Select Calculate to get total flue gas volume.
