Setlist Duration Calculator
Setlist Duration Calculator
Planning a live show's total runtime? This calculator adds up song lengths plus realistic between-song gap time for a much more accurate stage-time estimate.
Total Time = Sum(Song Lengths) + ((Number of Songs - 1) x Gap Time)
Example
Four songs at 3.5, 4.2, 3.8, and 5.0 minutes, with a 20-second gap between each:
Song Total = 16.5 min, Gap Total = 1.0 min → Total = 17.5 minutes
Why Gaps Matter More Than People Expect
Retuning, brief stage banter, and technical transitions between songs add up quickly across a full set - a 15-song setlist with even short 20-second gaps adds nearly 5 extra minutes beyond the raw song lengths, which matters when booking a venue's time slot.
Useful for Booking and Scheduling
Getting this total right helps avoid running over an allotted venue time slot or festival stage changeover window, both common sources of friction between bands, sound engineers, and event organizers.
