Influencer Rate Calculator
A Starting Point for Sponsored Post Pricing
Influencer rate cards vary enormously and are rarely published, which leaves both creators and brands negotiating somewhat blind on a first deal. A common starting heuristic prices a sponsored post off engaged followers rather than raw follower count, since engagement is a better proxy for actual audience attention than follower size alone. This calculator applies that heuristic as a platform-neutral estimate.
The Formula
Estimated Rate = Engaged Followers × Rate per Engaged Follower
The default rate per engaged follower is $0.01 — a commonly referenced industry rule of thumb, not a fixed or guaranteed market price. Actual rates shift with niche, content format, platform, exclusivity terms, and negotiating leverage.
Where This Matters
- First-time rate negotiations — creators without an established rate card can use this as a defensible starting figure rather than guessing.
- Brand budget planning — agencies sizing up a multi-creator campaign can quickly estimate a total budget across a shortlist of accounts.
- Sanity-checking an unusually high or low quote — comparing a received quote against this baseline flags whether it's in a reasonable range for the account's size and engagement.
Worked Example
| Step | Value |
|---|---|
| Engaged followers | 875 |
| Estimated rate per post | $8.75 |
This is a general rate-card estimate, not a guaranteed or negotiated rate.
