Instagram doesn't pay creators a platform ad share the way YouTube does — earnings come almost entirely from brand deals, and brands generally price a sponsored post around the size of the audience it actually reaches and engages, not the raw follower count. This calculator translates followers and engagement rate into an illustrative per-post value using a common industry rule of thumb: a flat dollar rate per engaged follower.

The Formula

Engaged Followers = Followers × (Engagement Rate ÷ 100)
Estimated Earnings = Engaged Followers × Rate per Engaged Follower

The default rate per engaged follower is $0.01, a widely used starting benchmark in creator-economy pricing discussions — not a fixed market price. Actual sponsored post rates vary by niche, content quality, platform demand, and negotiation.
