TikTok Earnings Calculator
Two Very Different Ways TikTok Creators Get Paid
TikTok income splits into two largely unrelated tracks. The Creator Fund (and similar platform payout programs) pays out based on views at a notably low RPM, while brand deals price against audience size and engagement, the same way Instagram sponsorships do. Because the two tracks use completely different math, this calculator offers a mode switch rather than a single blended formula.
The Formulas
Brand Deal: Engaged Followers = Followers × (Engagement Rate ÷ 100)
Brand Deal: Estimated Earnings = Engaged Followers × Rate per Engaged Follower
Creator Fund RPM typically runs around $0.02–$0.04 per 1,000 views — dramatically lower than YouTube's ad RPM, since it draws from a fixed fund rather than a direct ad revenue share. The default in this calculator is $0.03. Brand deal mode uses the same $0.01-per-engaged-follower rule of thumb as the Instagram and Influencer Rate calculators.
Where This Matters
- Understanding why views don't translate to much Creator Fund income — a video needs roughly a million views to earn on the order of $30 from the fund alone, which is why most serious TikTok income comes from brand deals instead.
- Deciding where to focus — comparing the two modes side by side makes clear that growing engagement and follower quality pays off more than chasing raw views for fund payouts.
- Pricing a sponsored post — the brand deal mode gives a starting estimate before negotiating with a brand directly.
Worked Examples
| Mode | Inputs | Estimated earnings |
|---|---|---|
| Creator Fund | 1,000,000 views at $0.03 RPM | $30.00 |
| Brand Deal | 25,000 followers, 3.5% engagement, $0.01/engaged follower | $8.75 per post |
Both figures are illustrative estimates; actual Creator Fund payouts and brand deal rates vary and are not published as fixed figures by TikTok or brands.
