When a known quantity of heat is released into a fixed mass of gas inside a combustion chamber, this calculator predicts the resulting temperature rise using basic sensible heat principles.

The Formula

T2 = T1 + Heat Added / (Mass × Specific Heat)

Worked Example

1 kg of gas at 298 K with specific heat 1.15 kJ/kg·K receives 500 kJ of heat.

T2 = 298 + 500 / (1 × 1.15) = 732.78 K
