What a Burner Should Actually Be Supplied
Real burners never run at exactly the stoichiometric air ratio — they're deliberately supplied with some excess air margin to guarantee complete combustion despite imperfect mixing. This calculator applies that margin to a known theoretical air requirement.
The Formula
Actual Air = Theoretical Air × (1 + Excess Air% / 100)
Worked Example
A process needs 12.5 kg of theoretical air and runs with 15% excess air:
Actual Air = 12.5 × 1.15 = 14.38 kg
