Primary Air Calculator
The Air That Ignites the Flame
Primary air is the portion of total combustion air introduced directly with or around the fuel to establish stable ignition. The remainder, secondary air, completes combustion further along the flame.
The Formula
Primary Air = Total Combustion Air × Primary Air% / 100
Worked Example
A burner supplied with 500 m3/hr total air, with 30% designated as primary air:
Primary Air = 500 × 0.30 = 150 m3/hr
