Why 20% + 20% + 20% isn't always 60%
Many games stack percentage buffs multiplicatively rather than additively - understanding which stacking rule your game uses can make a meaningful difference in build planning, since the two methods diverge more the more buffs are stacked.
Worked example
For three +20% buffs stacked multiplicatively:
Total Multiplier = 1.2 x 1.2 x 1.2 = 1.728x total (72.8% bonus)
Compare this to simple additive stacking, which would give only 20% + 20% + 20% = 60% total bonus - multiplicative stacking produces a noticeably larger 72.8% bonus for the exact same three buffs, and the gap widens further as more buffs get added to the stack.
Always verify your specific game's actual stacking behavior in patch notes or community testing, since some games mix additive and multiplicative rules across different buff categories rather than using one consistent system throughout.
