Mood Average Calculator

Mood Average Calculator: Are You Trending Up or Down?

A single mood rating tells you how you feel today, but comparing averages across a tracking period reveals the trend, which matters more for spotting whether things are genuinely improving. This calculator compares the first half of your tracking period against the second half.

The Formula

Overall Average = (First-Half Average + Second-Half Average) / 2, Trend = Second-Half Average − First-Half Average

Worked Example

First-half average mood of 6.0, second-half average of 7.2, over 30 days tracked.

Overall Average = (6.0+7.2)/2 = 6.6, Trend = 7.2−6.0 = +1.2 ("Improving")
