150 ft roof perimeter with 4 downspouts:
Gutter = 150 ft, Downspout = 4 x 10 = 40 ft
How Many Downspouts Do You Need?
A common guideline recommends one downspout for roughly every 30-40 linear feet of gutter, or one per roof section/corner, whichever requires more downspouts. Undersized downspout capacity relative to roof area is a common cause of gutter overflow during heavy rainfall - when in doubt, err toward more downspouts rather than fewer, especially in high-rainfall regions.
