Counting Down to the Next Milestone
Once a relationship or marriage passes its first year, "which anniversary is coming up, and how many days away is it" stops being obvious — especially if the date already passed this year and the next one is twelve months out. This calculator locates the correct upcoming anniversary automatically and counts the exact number of days until it arrives.
The Formula
Years Together (so far) = Current Year − Start Year
This Year's Anniversary = Start Date with the year replaced by the current year
If This Year's Anniversary has already passed → use next year's date instead
Days Until = Next Anniversary Date − Today's Date
This Year's Anniversary = Start Date with the year replaced by the current year

Days Until = Next Anniversary Date − Today's Date
A February 29 start date is handled as a special case: in non-leap years the anniversary lands on March 1 instead of skipping the celebration entirely.
