The Formula
The calculator counts words by matching sequences of letters, numbers, apostrophes, and hyphens, then searches the lowercased text for case-insensitive occurrences of your exact keyword phrase.
Where This Matters
- Auditing existing pages — checking whether an older article naturally uses its target phrase enough to signal relevance.
- Drafting new content — pasting a draft before publishing to confirm the primary keyword appears a reasonable number of times without forced repetition.
- Diagnosing thin rankings — a page that never mentions its target keyword in the body is an easy, low-effort fix to check first.
Reading the Result
