Most keyword density tools measure density after content is written - this calculator works the other direction, giving writers a rough target occurrence count to keep in mind while drafting, without needing to stop and recalculate density repeatedly.
Worked example
For a 1,500-word article targeting 1.5% keyword density:
Occurrences = floor(1500 x 0.015) = 22 times
Treat this as a loose guideline, not a rigid rule - modern search engines evaluate topical relevance using much more sophisticated language understanding than raw keyword counting, and forcing an exact occurrence count into text can produce awkward, repetitive writing that reads poorly to actual visitors.
