Sleep Consistency Score Calculator

Sleep Consistency Score Calculator

Total sleep duration isn't the whole story - this calculator scores how consistent your sleep schedule actually is night to night.

Average Variance = (Bedtime Variance + Wake Time Variance) / 2
Consistency Score = max(0, 100 - (Average Variance x 1.5))

Example

15-minute bedtime variance, 10-minute wake time variance:

Average Variance = 12 minutes → 81/100 - Good consistency

Why Consistency Matters Almost as Much as Duration

Sleep consistency - going to bed and waking up at similar times each day, including weekends - is increasingly highlighted by sleep researchers as being nearly as important as total sleep duration for overall sleep quality and daytime alertness.

The "Social Jet Lag" Problem

Large swings between weekday and weekend sleep timing (commonly called "social jet lag") can produce grogginess and disrupted sleep quality similar to actual jet lag from travel, even without crossing any time zones - keeping weekend variance closer to weekday timing is a widely recommended fix.
