Fantasy trade offers rarely arrive with a clear verdict attached — a two-for-one swap or a bundle of bench depth for a single star can look reasonable on the surface while quietly favoring one side. This calculator strips the decision down to what actually matters for the transaction: the combined projected points of the players leaving your roster versus the combined projected points of the players arriving.
The Formula
The tool sums the projected points on each side of the deal and compares the totals directly:
Side B Total = Σ Projected Points (players received)
Point Differential = Side B Total − Side A Total
A positive differential means Side B (the players received) projects for more points, so the trade favors accepting it. A negative differential favors keeping the current roster. A differential of zero is called an even trade. Each side accepts up to three players.
Where This Comparison Matters
- Two-for-one and three-for-two offers — consolidation trades are hard to judge by instinct once player count is unequal; summed projections make the comparison direct.
- Buy-low and sell-high windows — plugging in current weekly or rest-of-season projections shows whether a depressed or inflated value is actually reflected in the offer.
