How much candy actually goes inside a pi├▒ata to make sure every kid ends up with a fair share once the scramble happens? This calculator adds a practical buffer to account for real-world uneven distribution.
Total Candy = Children x Candy Per Child x 1.2
Example
12 children, targeting 5 pieces each:
Total Candy = 12 x 5 x 1.2 = 72 pieces
Why the 20% Buffer?
Pi├▒ata candy never distributes perfectly evenly once it scatters on the ground - some pieces end up hidden under furniture, crushed underfoot, or scooped up in uneven handfuls by faster or bigger kids. This is exactly why party planning guides commonly recommend adding a 15-25% buffer above the simple "candy per child" math, so even kids at the back of the scramble still walk away with a reasonable haul.
