Gas Volume Correction to Standard Conditions Calculator

Gas Volume Correction to Standard Conditions Calculator

A gas volume measured at one pressure and temperature cannot be fairly compared to a volume measured under different conditions until both are corrected to the same reference point.

The Formula

Vstd = Vactual × (Pactual/Pstd) × (Tstd/Tactual)

Using standard conditions of 101.325 kPa and 273.15K (0°C).

Worked Example

10 m³ measured at 150 kPa and 320K: Vstd = 10 × (150/101.325) × (273.15/320) ≈ 12.64 Nm³.

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Enter the actual measured volume.
  2. Enter actual pressure and temperature.

Important: "standard conditions" definitions vary by industry and region - this calculator uses 0°C, but always confirm which standard your specific application or contract requires before relying on results for billing or reporting.
