Offer Acceptance Rate Calculator
An Offer Is Only a Hire Once It's Accepted
Extending an offer is not the same as filling a role, and a recruiting team that only tracks offers made is missing the metric that actually predicts headcount growth. Offer acceptance rate closes that gap: it measures the share of extended offers that candidates actually said yes to, which is the number that turns a pipeline into real hires.
The Formula
Offer Acceptance Rate = (Offers Accepted / Offers Extended) × 100
Where This Is Useful
- Compensation competitiveness — a declining acceptance rate is often the first sign that offered packages have fallen behind the market.
- Pipeline forecasting — a known acceptance rate lets a recruiter estimate how many offers need to go out to hit a hiring target.
- Process diagnosis — comparing acceptance rate by role, level, or recruiter can surface where the offer or closing process is underperforming.
Worked Example
| Offers accepted | Offers extended | Acceptance rate |
|---|---|---|
| 18 | 20 | 90% |
