Combustion Chamber Volume Calculator

Combustion Chamber Volume Calculator: Cylindrical Chamber Sizing

Many combustion chambers, from gas turbine combustor cans to cylindrical burner enclosures, are built as cylinders. This calculator computes the internal volume directly from diameter and length.

The Formula

Volume = (π/4) × Diameter² × Length

Worked Example

A cylindrical chamber has a diameter of 0.5 m and a length of 1.0 m.

Volume = (π/4) × 0.5² × 1.0 = 0.196 m3

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Enter the internal diameter of the chamber in meters.
  2. Enter the chamber length in meters.
  3. Click Calculate to get the internal volume.
