Expected Loss Calculator

Understanding the long-run math behind casino games

Every casino game has a built-in statistical house edge - this calculator applies that edge to actual total wagering volume to show the mathematically expected loss over an extended play session.

Worked example

For $10,000 in total wagers at a 5% house edge:

Expected Loss = 10000 x (5/100) = 500.0

"Total wagered" here means all money bet across every round, including bets made with previous winnings re-wagered - this figure is typically far larger than a starting bankroll for an extended session, since a player can wager the same money many times over as it moves back and forth.

This is a long-run statistical expectation, not a prediction for any single session - actual results in any given session can vary considerably above or below this average due to normal statistical variance.
