Burner Firing Rate Calculator
Where a Burner Sits in Its Modulation Range
Firing rate expresses current fuel flow as a percentage of maximum, the number that shows whether a burner is running near its minimum stable point, comfortably mid-range, or close to full capacity.
The Formula
Firing Rate % = (Current Fuel Flow / Maximum Fuel Flow) × 100
Worked Example
A burner currently flowing 8 kg/hr against a maximum of 20 kg/hr:
Firing Rate = (8 / 20) × 100 = 40%
How to Use This Calculator
- Enter the Current Fuel Flow.
- Enter the Maximum Fuel Flow rating.
- Select Calculate to get current firing rate percentage.
