The Formula
Emission Factor = Pollutant Mass Measured / Fuel Quantity Burned
Worked Example
A stack test measures 45 kg of a pollutant over a period when 900 GJ of fuel was burned:
Factor = 45 / 900 = 0.05 kg/GJ (50 g/GJ)
