Fuel Flow Rate Calculator

Turning a Logged Fuel Quantity Into a Rate

If you've measured how much fuel was actually consumed over a known time period — from a meter reading, tank dip, or test run — this calculator converts that into a standard hourly flow rate for comparison against equipment ratings.

The Formula

Flow Rate = Fuel Quantity Consumed / Time

Worked Example

A tank test shows 340 liters consumed over 8 hours of operation:

Flow Rate = 340 / 8 = 42.5 L/hr

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Enter the total Fuel Quantity consumed.
  2. Enter the Time Period over which it was consumed, in hours.
  3. Select Calculate to get the hourly flow rate.
