Why Condensing Boilers Are Not a Drop-In Upgrade

Condensing boilers require return water temperatures low enough to trigger condensation in the heat exchanger — usually below about 130°F. Many existing heating systems, especially older radiator systems designed around higher water temperatures, are not set up to run that cool, which is why a condensing retrofit often means more than just swapping the boiler itself.
